Website Scrubbing and TCP to Serial

Post by ohararp » Wed Feb 04, 2009 10:12 pm

Q1.

Just curious I have been using the Lantronix XPORT to scrub websites by issuing http get commands. Is this something that is supported in the "ethernet module"?

I do know that that David said he has not ported the "http" side of the Mchip TCP/IP stack, but I wasn't sure if the http command was something that was issued under the http protocol (I may be answering my own question with this post), but just wanted to confirm.

Q2.

Is there a Virtual Com Port client that could be used with the TCP stack to talk over the internet to the ENCJ device using the Serial Plugin of swordfish? I am currently using the Com Port Redirector from Lantronix to do this now and it works really well. The $50 cost of the XPORT is killing me though!
Thanks Ryan
