Hey, I recently got windows 8.1 OS (64bit), and installed Swordfish. I have a problem compiling any programmes including any of the sample codes.
The compiler keeps showing an "ASM Error"
I have tried to completely uninstall Swordfish and reinstall with same results.
I am running the latest swordfish compiler version 2.2.2.2
I have attached the test prog with asm file included?

Re: Compilation Error with Swordfish Toolsuite
I don't have windows 8 so cannot test here. I've tried the installation on windows 7 with no problems so I can only put the problem down to either win 8 or you OS configuration (anti-virus?) - Does anyone else have the same problem with windows 8?
Re: Compilation Error with Swordfish Toolsuite
I am also running SF 2.2.2.2 on Windows 8.1 64bit and it compiles fine for me. Please let me know if you'd like me to examine any of my Windows settings to help you isolate the problem further.
Re: Compilation Error with Swordfish Toolsuite - *Fixed*
Thank you Dave and Ralph for your replies..
Here is a list of things I have tried.
1. I am not using any additional anti-virus (this is a fresh install of windows 8 ), but I did try to disable any anti malware within the system - but did not fix issue.
2. I have set every folder/exe etc with "run as admin" - did not fix issue.
3. Tried to install Swordfish into different folders etc - did not fix the issue.
4. Run windows in safe mode - but same results.
This is how I have fixed the issue with my system:
I have a Swordfish short-cut on my desktop - Right click on short-cut -> Properties
There is a Tab within the Properties which is called "Compatibility" In here I have selected "run as admin" and also Run Swordfish
Compatibility Mode "Vista (Service Pack 2)", this has fixed the ASM Error messages and everything compiles correctly.
I hope this helps anyone else who may have the same issue?.
Just in case anyone wanted to compare the asm files I have attached the compiled code after a successful compile:

Re: Compilation Error with Swordfish Toolsuite
Guys, this forum is so cool.
I just got a second hand macbook air (off my daughter, since I got her a new windows 8 one) and I've just put windows 8.1 on it and was just about to install Swordfish on it and get going with some projects, and I thought I'd just check in with the crew to see whats new, and straight away answers to my imminent problems. This is the shit!!
Swordfish is Awesome. Thanks David!
