Thanks David. I am unable to update my version. IF I go to view/online updates nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall the compiler?

Thanks.

You will need to email me your product key so I can find out why it has not been recognised...

Hi David,
my reg key also not accepted with the executable in previous post. From the actual IDE, when I launch the online updates, nothing happens, and I'm with v2.2.1.3

So David,

Are we not able to update through the IDE anymore?

You can still update via the IDE in the latest version - go to HELP...ABOUT and it will check for online updates. However, unlike previous versions, the update is performed by "swordfish-si.exe".

But what if we have to format our PC? or the Hard drive fails and we have to reinstall Swordfish, the key that worked before no longer works? It says something like the key has already been used on another PC.

Also when I purchased Swordfish a few years ago it said nothing about the 1 year free updates?, like the new electronic download installation program on the mecanique website?. Where do us old timers so to speak stand for future updates?

PS. I hope that none of the above has come across offensive in any way as I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into Swordfish.

Not at all...

The new system allows you to install on up to three machines. If you need to reset a machine (because you change it or the hard drive fails) just email me and I will reset it for you. I will get around to having the system allow you to remove a machine, but for now, you will have to drop me an email. A number of people have been doing this for some time now with no problems.

Yes you are right, by default the system is now set to 1 year. I've done this for a number of reasons but please do not worry about it. There are many longtime and loyal Swordfish users out there and I am not going to start to prevent them accessing updates. If the update has "timed out" please just email me and I will reset it for you.

I hope this clears things up for you.
