On-line Software Updates

Post by johngb » Thu Feb 01, 2007 6:22 pm

I notice there have been quite a few new Modules issued which should be available via on line update. E.g. Stevens latest S1D13700 code and the USB module. I dont seem to have any of these updates although I have run the on-line update.

I am running Ver 1.2.0.6 - ICC 1.1.4.6.

Am I missing something?

I've just installed the first release CD ROM and the updates are detected. Are the online updates displayed? If so, do you see a progress bar when installing? After running the update, are you restarting the IDE?

When I run On-line updates for a fraction of a second it reports Connecting to server or something like that - too quick to read clearly - in the status bar. That's all that happens!

Your IDE version number doesn't look right - have you installed from CD ROM!! It should read 1.2.0.8 before running an update...

Now I've screwed it up - first I just tried reinstalling over the existing installation. That made no change - IDE version same as before.

So I un-installed it and reinstalled it (having forgotton that the USB Key was still in place)''

Now it can't see the security key - I tried making windows search for drivers on the CDROM but it reported that a problem. I get the report from the USB found new hardware wizard USBKey Ver 1.0 Microcosm Ltd. Sytem cannot find the file specified.

How do I clean out the old files and install afresh?

Try

(a) Uninstall
(b) Reboot
(c) Remove USB key, then install
(d) Reboot
(e) Insert USB key to install drivers

Ensure that you are not trying to run the IDE from an old shortcut...

Just to add - I am running the IDE from the shortcut generated by the installation, I have tried with Norton AV auto-protect disabled - still no difference - its as if the IDE is not managing to find the server. I get no message just a very brief Connecting to Server in the status bar.

You will need to contact me directly - you must have an old BETA version. The updates are working fine.
