Serial Communicator query

Post by Francis » Tue Jun 19, 2007 10:44 am

Just a little question on the Serial Communicator transmit.

For convenience I'd like it to transmit my typed string when I press 'Return/Enter' - but I don't want it to send the Return/Enter byte.

So I've set it to:
Transmit on Carriage Return
Terminator > No Terminator

... but it still sends the byte. It behaves as though I have set the terminator as NULL option.

Is there any way to prevent this?

Try using the 'send' button, rather than pressing the keyboard CR key

Oh I realise that, but thumping a key is easier (after typing a string) than moving my fat hands, wiggling mouse, clicking - and I did select No terminator.

I know its not the end of the world, so it was just a comment for a minor amendment at a later date when it's raining. Cheers.
