Query concerning future Linux possibilities...

Post by Senacharim » Fri Apr 15, 2011 7:05 pm

Hi!
Recently, my work computer offed itself in a grisly ritualistic fashion involving cutting its own partition table...

But, that aside, I get to do the rebuilding, and since I'm a fan of Linux, I'm thinking dual-boot Linux/XP or (more likely) Linux and virtualized XP. This, of course, leads to the crux of my query:

Has anybody out there run Swordfish in a virtual Windows install?
I know I can get USB and Serial to comm across one OS to the other, my real concern is oddities from the IDE itself.

Secondly, any chance of future Linux support for Swordfish?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.

Well, here I am replying to myself...

Using Oracle VirtualBox I've been successfully coding & burning PICs from my virtual Windows install. So, the answer is "yes"
