Productize 40 Pin 18F452

Post by Intellisenc » Tue Nov 30, 2010 5:28 pm

Does anyone have suggestions on an enclosure to take an 18F452 to a prototype enclosure;

battery powered
hand held
64X128 Touchscreen
on/off switch
no buttons
1-wire connection
currently working with 40 pin (I don't know if this can change to a 28 pin count, 18F25K20 or 18F2550 for example, and still retain 64X128 GLCD touchscreen. I guess I could go with anLCD and (2) buttons if required)

Also, any suggestions on a board are appreciated. I was looking at a TAP-28 or Dwarf Boards DB001 for example.

Thanks,

PacTec makes a wide range of enclosures that are relatively inexpensive and easy to get.

Hammond also makes a range of nice enclosures. The 1553 series is a really nice handheld enclosure with a battery compartment.

Rose-Bopla makes awesome enclosures and has a line with windows and cutouts but unfortunately, I must suggest avoiding them unless you can find the enclosure you want in stock at someplace like Digikey or Mouser, because the company is extremely difficult to work with directly for small quantities and the lead times are long.

Thanks for mentioning the TAP-28 board!
