Comparing ARM, Cortex3 and PIC

Dear all,
I have been all this while working with Microchip PIC, nearly all in 18Fs. But now we are considering to move to 32bits platform. Some people suggested why not move to ARM based 32 bits system. I know it is not of relevance to this forum. But all this while with familiarity with Microchip's system, it's a bit daunting to move into the unknown. Does anyone here work with ARM system? Is there any serious advantage to ARM core compared to Microchip's 32bits (in general)?
