SF like compiler for MIPSMK4 alla PIC32

Any plans on writing a compiler for the pic32 MIPS core Dave ?

considering a full version of Mplab C32 is £550 and I hate C , I'd certainly be a taker :D rather spend the dosh on a language I do like

he didn't say that it was forbidden , he said he'd send you more update keys chill out.

I suspect the extra layer of protection is because of piracy

saying "I might as well use the cracked one since im not getting updates anyway." doesn't help.

Blame the pirate arseholes for the situation not david

The Vincilium chip from FTDI does act as a host bridge so for example if you plop on a vincilium and set its firmware for mass storage class you can plug a USB stick or USB harddrive on to your project directly the vincilium acts as the host. http://electronicdesign.com/article/digital/interfacing-a...

also if the SLM is showing as a comport it may have a rs232 bridge chip in there such as FTDIRL232 if your lucky in which case you can simply bypass the bridge and do straight 232 from a pic

Not many micro's support USB Host and the ones that do are usually limited always limited to a few device profiles. You may be able to pull it off on an 18 series by using an extra chip such as the FTDI Vincilium which is a host bridge , dunno if it supports CDC host tho. None of the 18 series suppo...

Ok thats better , can't stand script kid talk ,, does my nut in. You do know this forum is for SwordFish basic compiler for PIC MICROCONTROLLERS and not anything to do with Visual Basic. SF runs on little chips not PC's but that aside the approach is the same. You want to be looking at a file transf...

you will need to make and include. These are BAS files.
I'd start with a chip that's close ish and is supported then make a copy , rename it to 18F24J11.bas and change the entries to match the data sheet

As far as I am aware the USB interface is just an FTDI FT232 uart bridge and should show up as a standard com port , so pretty much any bootloader should work ok. The ICSP is brought out on a header (spaced for pickit 2/3 but any will work) so slapping another loader of is simple enough. As for the ...
